"Success for me looked different than most of JJ’s clients, as I had a full stomach removal 8 months before working together with JJ because I had gastric cancer. My goal was to learn about carbohydrate control and maintain daily macros to improve my type 1 diabetes, as well as to feel good when I would eat. "Weight was not a focal point for me while working with JJ, but as I learned to refocus my relationship with food, learned more about carbs control, and maintained macros I lost 10 lbs within a month."

"Hang in there. Once you get off the sugar roller coaster, you realize what you thought was hunger was just a drop in glucose. It gets much easier to fast – and control your eating in general – once you have that under control. Also, note that the investment is worth it! The money you save on food – and if you’re like me the money you wasted on other diet plans and supplements – definitely offset the cost of the coaching. Coach JJ puts in more time and dedication than any other coach I’ve ever known!"

"I now realize when my body says “no more food for a while, I need a rest”. It’s almost the opposite of hunger."

How much weight have you lost and what other things have changed for you because of losing the weight?

"I lost 23 pounds in 3 months with JJ and am still losing. And it’s important to note that I am 59 and that this is NOT the same weight I annually gain and lose, it’s an extra 27 pounds that I’ve carried for almost 20 years. I have Polycystic Kidney Disease and really do all I can to delay dialysis for as long as possible. As my weight and glucose decreased, so did my blood pressure and much of the swelling in my feet and ankles. I really believe and actually feel that my kidneys and the rest of my body are under a lot less stress now."

What was the main thing that helped you succeed?

"For me, it was the accountability! Knowing that I’ll need to report my numbers to JJ the next morning, I was able to keep going with my fasting schedule, and I could pass on social eating. What’s great about having coach JJ is unlike a personal trainer at the gym, he’s practically with you all day. So when I was feeling hungry during my fasting days and didn’t know what to do, he has given me many tips and encouragements to keep me going! He also made sure what I was eating was fitting my macros during my eating days."
